Bed Height Considerations

At 17 inches, the Fuchsia Duo Firm is one of our tallest mattresses. Your total bed height depends on three factors: mattress height, foundation height, and bed frame height.

Estimated Total Bed Heights with Available Foundations:

• With 8"H Foundation: Approximately 32-34 inches from floor to mattress top (17" mattress + 8" foundation + 7-9" typical bed frame)
• With 5"H Foundation: Approximately 29-31 inches (17" mattress + 5" foundation + 7-9" bed frame)
• With 2"H Bunkie Board: Approximately 26-28 inches (17" mattress + 2" bunkie board + 7-9" bed frame)
• With Motion Base (Adjustable Base): Approximately 31-34 inches (17" mattress + 14-17" typical motion base height)
• Platform Bed (no foundation needed): Approximately 24-29 inches (17" mattress + 7-12" typical platform bed height)

Why Bed Height Matters: A bed height of 24-26 inches typically allows most adults to sit comfortably on the edge with feet flat on the floor. Taller beds (28+ inches) can feel luxurious and make getting in and out easier for some, while lower beds (under 24 inches) work better for petite individuals or those with mobility concerns. Additionally, taller mattresses like the Fuchsia Duo Firm require deep-pocket sheets (18-22 inch pocket depth recommended).

Important Considerations:

• Headboard Coverage: Most headboards have decorative elements that begin approximately 14-16 inches above the bed frame rail. With the Fuchsia Duo Firm's 17-inch height, total mattress and foundation height combinations exceeding 24-26 inches may obscure lower headboard details or create a disproportionate look. If preserving headboard visibility is important, consider the 5"H Foundation (29-31" total) or 2"H Bunkie Board (26-28" total) rather than the 8"H Foundation (32-34" total).
• Sheet Tucking with Bunkie Boards: When using the 2"H Bunkie Board with bed frames that have side rails, the rails (typically 7-9" tall) will extend above the bunkie board surface. This makes tucking sheets difficult without lifting the mattress, which can cause finger pinching between the mattress and rail. If you prefer easier bed-making, consider the 5"H Foundation instead, which sits higher than most bed frame rails.

Choosing Your Foundation:

• For traditional bed height (32-34"): Pair with our 8"H Foundation (best for beds without decorative low headboards)
• For moderate bed height (29-31"): Choose our 5"H Foundation (balances height with headboard visibility and easier sheet tucking)
• For lower bed height (26-28"): Use our 2"H Bunkie Board on a standard bed frame (ideal for preserving headboard details, though sheet tucking requires lifting the mattress)
• For adjustable functionality: The Fuchsia Duo Firm is compatible with our motion base options (Tranquility, Clarity, Simplicity, or Prodigy models), providing head and foot adjustment with a bed height of 31-34"

Returns & Warranty

90-Day Comfort Trial: Sleep on your new Fuchsia Duo Firm for at least 30 nights before deciding — most bodies need time to adjust. If it's not quite right, you have two options:

• Swap for a different mattress for a $250 swap fee.
• Return it for a $250 return fee.

A mattress protector is strongly recommended — stained mattresses are not eligible for return, swap, or warranty service.

20-Year Limited Warranty: Covered against defects in workmanship or materials. Full no-charge repair or replacement for the first 10 years; prorated coverage continues through year 20. Proper foundation support is required for warranty validity — compatible foundations include Monarch Rest foundations, platform beds with solid decks, or adjustable bases rated for 800+ lbs.
