Mesa Rough Sawn Wood Pavilion from Berlin Gardens

Mesa Rough Sawn Wood Pavilion from Berlin Gardens

The Mesa is a bold, rough-sawn timber pavilion built for presence. Berlin Gardens builds every one to order at its shop in Berlin, Ohio, in the heart of Amish country. It is framed in western red cedar — solid 8" × 8" cedar posts, 4" × 10" beams, and 2" × 6" tongue-and-groove pine sheathing overhead — for a substantial, handcrafted look that only improves with age over a patio, kitchen, or poolside lounge.

Standard Model Includes

• Western red cedar timbers
• Solid cedar 8" × 8" posts
• 4" × 10" beams and 4" × 6" rafters
• 2" × 6" tongue-and-groove pine sheathing
• A-frame roof
• 12" eave / 16" gable overhang

Sizes & Customization

Sizes run from 12 to 26 feet. Mesa is framed in western red cedar — solid 8" × 8" posts, 4" × 10" beams, 4" × 6" rafters, and 2" × 6" tongue-and-groove pine sheathing — rough-sawn timber that wears beautifully over time. Top it with 30-year architectural shingles or standing-seam metal roofing, and add privacy walls, curtains, and gutter boards to round out the build.

Why You’ll Love It

A pergola filters the sun; a pavilion gives you a true roof, so the space stays usable through a passing rain or a hot afternoon. The rugged timber frame pairs naturally with stonework, an outdoor kitchen, or a hanging fan and lights. Because it is engineered and built to your exact size and finish, it reads as a permanent part of the home rather than a kit dropped on the patio. Whether you are covering a hot tub, a grill island, or a long table for company, it turns an open slab into the outdoor room you actually live in.
