Amish Craftsmanship

Every piece in this collection is Amish-built in LaGrange, Indiana by a team of skilled craftsmen. What began in a garage in 1994 is now a second-generation family company that builds heirloom-quality bedroom furniture from solid, kiln-dried hardwood, chosen and finished so each piece can be handed down for generations. Drawers are dovetailed and finished inside and out, mirrors are framed in solid hardwood, and every dresser and chest meets the STURDY Act tip-over standard with a built-in drawer interlock. CARB 2-compliant materials keep the furniture free of harmful chemicals. It is honest, careful construction, and it is the same in every collection they build.

Why You'll Love It

The Carlston Royal Bed anchors your room with a tall 65-inch headboard and a substantial 88-inch length that fills a king-size space beautifully. Subtle arches trace the headboard, echoing the gentle curves found across the budget-friendly Carlston collection. Choose Oak, Brown Maple, Sap Cherry, or the new Wormy Maple for a lower-price value finish that suits your bedroom. A metal rail bracket system with dovetailed slats keeps the frame solid, and optional under-bed storage units add drawers where you need them. Pair this bed with the matching tall dresser, chest, and nightstands to complete a coordinated, heirloom-quality suite built to last generations.

Warranty

Millwest covers this piece against defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the delivery date, so you can buy with confidence. Normal wear and tear, misuse, improper assembly or modification, "as-is" purchases, and commercial use fall outside that coverage. Because solid wood responds to its environment, keep indoor humidity in a stable range to protect the finish and joinery for the life of the piece. Should a question come up, Millwest customer service is a phone call away at (614) 873-1932, and the full terms are laid out on the Warranties page for anything you want to confirm before or after your purchase.

Product Specifications

Sample Size: 4½" × 4½" square

Wood Species: Oak, Rustic QSWO, Rustic Cherry, Brown Maple, Sap Cherry, QSWO, Cherry, Elm, Hickory, Rustic Hickory, and Hard Maple

Finish: Your choice of stain, applied to the wood species you select

See It in Your Space

A wood stain sample lets you judge the exact wood and finish in the room where your furniture will live. Hold it against your wall paint or wallpaper in daylight and again under evening lamps, since warm and cool bulbs change how a stain reads. Set it beside your sofa fabric, rug, and curtains to see whether the undertones work together. Compare it with your floors, trim, and the wood pieces you already own. If you're mixing woods, look for a clear contrast rather than a near-match, and pair a bold grain like oak or hickory with a calmer one like maple or cherry. Think about hardware and metal finishes too. A few minutes with a sample in hand takes the guesswork out of a piece built to your order.

Choosing a Sample

This standard sample covers the wood and stain options offered on most of our solid wood furniture. Each species brings its own character, from the ray fleck of quartersawn white oak to the bold grain contrast of hickory, and the same stain can look quite different from one wood to the next. Learn more on our Wood Characteristics page. Keep in mind that your custom sample is cut and stained to your order. Once it's processed, you should receive your samples in approximately two weeks.

Because wood is a natural material and screens vary, colors can differ slightly from what you see online. Some variation between your sample and your finished piece should also be expected, as every board is unique and takes stain in its own way.
